There is no pre-register for the event unless you wish to reserve a camping space. Please see the the Home page for information about that process. All event fees are payable at the gate by cash, check, or credit cards via PayPal. We suggest bringing cash just in case we have difficulties with our rural internet PayPal connection.

For this purpose, a ‘family’ is a legal family: two adults plus their own biological / adopted / foster children. The Family Cap fee is $80 and covers the two parents and up to four youths (ages 10 through 18). Children (newborn through 9 years old) are free.

Yes. To reserve space for your group, please click on the “Reserve Your Camp-space” button on the Home page of this website. From the form: “If camping with a group (group is defined as 2 or more people), the group must designate 1 camp master and a shared camp name. Individual pre-registrations will be grouped together based on this camp name. In order to have your reservation counted towards the group total land allotment, every individual registration must list the same chosen camp name. Only the designated group camp master will be asked site location preferences. Groups will be allotted additional square footage for a group common area. Size of this allotment is contingent upon the number of adults that preregister to the same group camp name. The total amount of land allotted to each group is dependent on the number of complete Individual Pre-Registration’s with the same group camp name. Campers must list their chosen camp name when completing their separate individual event pre-registrations. You will find the location of your group camp at the Land Check in Table after checking in at gate.”

Yes. To request a specific camping area, make that request on the camping reservation form under the questions “Are there any additional details your feel the Land Coordinator needs to know?” or contact the Land Steward at jacobredbourne@gmail.com and they will do their best to accommodate your request. Please do note however that all reservations are on a first come first served basis , and somebody may have already requested the area that you want. If you are camping with a group, see the FAQ bellow.

The Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc., is a national organization. We are able to rent this site and obtain the insurance coverage required by the Oregon State Parks & Recreation Dept. only because the Barony of Adiantum is a part of the SCA. We must abide by SCA policy which does not allow any marijuana or other federally controlled substances at SCA sanctioned events. So, no medical or recreational marijuana of any kind at the event.

While we do not have any children specific activities planned, we do have a lot of activities children and their parents can enjoy together throughout the weekend. Please note that children 12 and under are required to be within sight and sound of their parents at all times. Look for activities under Archery and Thrown Weapons and Arts & Sciences (A&S) that mention that they are particularly child-friendly. Even if they are not so marked, many of the A&S activities are great for older kids and youth who are particularly interested in the activity.

Yes, you can bring a non-related child or youth to Egils, but there are a few things we need you to bring with you. We need the Parent or Legal Guardian to sign a “Medical Authorization for Minors (please note the number of copies you need to make and who needs to have them with them at all times). Name at least one Adult that will be in attendance. If the minor does not have a Blue Membership card, their Parent or Legal Guardian must also sign a “Minor’s consent to participate and hold harmless agreement.” You can fill the forms out on line and then print them, or download the pdf and print and hand write the information requested. The Medical Authorization Form cannot by filled out when you arrive at the event with a minor who is not with their parent/guardian. The form must have been signed by the child’s parent/guardian who is not present.

The Oregon State Parks & Recreation Dept. allows only dogs, cats, and non-livestock birds on site. As you enter the event, for each pet, you must show proof of rabies vaccination that includes the date that the vaccination expires. We have had this requirement for years at this site, ever since we had someone bitten by a pet without a rabies vaccination certificate. Please project your pet and everyone around you by bringing your up-to-date paperwork. Pets must be leashed, tethered, caged or otherwise under physical control at all times. Obedience is not a substitute for a leash.

If you are only coming for the day, we recommend bringing appropriate garb (clothing), food and drinks for the day, and something to sit on. If you will be camping, you will also need some camping gear such as a tent, sleeping bag, and a way to prepare your own food for the weekend. There will be at least one merchant at the event selling food.

We will have four Accessible portable toilets on site, one at archery, one near the list field and two near the merchant’s row; however, the site is not level and roads are not paved. There is no electricity or water service to this site. We provide a potable water truck. We have a limited number of Accessible parking spots in the gravel parking lot at gate. Please contact the Land Master (jacobredbourne@gmail.com) with specific questions about camping so that we can work with you about possible accommodations.

The SCA asks that everyone attending events wear an attempt pre-16th century clothing or ‘garb’. If you don’t have anything appropriate to wear, we do have clothing that can be borrowed. Ask for the Gold Key pavilion.
