We are pleased to announce that there will be a Family Activity Center near the List Fields. Please note that children 12 and under are required to be within sight and sound of their parents at all times. Look for activities under Archery and Thrown Weapons and Arts & Sciences (A&S) that mention that they are particularly child-friendly. Even if they are not so marked, many of the A&S activities are great for older kids and youth who are particularly interested in the activity.

Yes, you can bring a non-related child or youth to Egils, but there are a few things we need you to bring with you. We need the Parent or Legal Guardian to sign a “Medical Authorization for Minors (please note the number of copies you need to make and who needs to have them with them at all times). Name at least one Adult that will be in attendance. If the minor does not have a Blue Membership card, their Parent or Legal Guardian must also sign a “Minor’s consent to participate and hold harmless agreement.” You can fill the forms out on line and then print them, or download the pdf and print and hand write the information requested. The Medical Authorization Form cannot be filled out when you arrive at the event with a minor who is not with their parent/guardian. The form must have been signed by the child’s parent/guardian who is not present.

The Oregon State Parks & Recreation Dept. allows only dogs, cats, and non-livestock birds on site. As you enter the event, for each pet, you must show proof of rabies vaccination that includes the date that the vaccination expires. We have had this requirement for years at this site, ever since we had someone bitten by a pet without a rabies vaccination certificate. Please protect your pet and everyone around you by bringing your up-to-date paperwork. Pets must be leashed, tethered, caged or otherwise under physical control at all times. Obedience is not a substitute for a leash. Uncontrolled pets will be required to leave immediately. Pet waste must be removed immediately.

If you are only coming for the day, we recommend bringing appropriate garb (clothing), food and drinks for the day, and something to sit on. If you will be camping, you will also need some camping gear such as a tent, sleeping bag, and a way to prepare your own food for the weekend. There will be at least one merchant at the event selling food.

We will have four Accessible portable toilets on site, one at archery, one near the list field and two near the merchant’s row; however, the site is not level and roads are not paved. The roads have been tested using electric wheelchair and mobility scooters and found it quite accessible with some exceptions. The pathway from parking and the park is NOT accessible. The graveled areas can be challenging if you have low clearance on your device. There will be limited charging available for CPAP devices. There is no electricity or water service to this site. We provide a potable water truck. We have a limited number of Accessible parking spots in the gravel parking lot at gate. Please contact the Land Master ([email protected]) with specific questions about camping so that we can work with you about possible accommodations. Be sure to include any accessible parking requests in your pre-reg.

The SCA asks that everyone attending events wear an attempt pre-16th century clothing or ‘garb’. If you don’t have anything appropriate to wear, we do have clothing that can be borrowed. Ask for the Gold Key pavilion.

No. The Oregon Parks & Recreation Dept. has specified that this is a no smoking park. Egil’s event policy forbids vaping/e-cigs and spitting of chew anywhere. Oregon state forbids smoking. You may smoke/vape inside your parked car or along Davisson Rd. beyond the park entrance.

“Participants within the SCA should always observe courtesy with their use of any product that produces smoke or vapor. Both tobacco and marijuana smoke can be harmful to others and exposure.” (SCA Seneschal’s Handbook)

This is a no smoking site, so smoking marijuana (or anything else) is not allowed. Otherwise, Oregon state laws apply and the event has no further restrictions.
